How to prevent bearing rusting?

During production, the causes of bearing rusting include:

1. Humidity: The amount of humidity in the air has a great impact on the corrosion rate of bearings. Under the critical humidity, the metal corrosion rate is very slow. Once the humidity exceeds the critical humidity, the metal corrosion rate will suddenly rise. The critical humidity of steel is about 65%. Due to the poor air flow in the bearing production workshop, the heat generated in the processing process accelerates the evaporation of moisture in the grinding fluid, cleaning fluid and anti-rust fluid into the air, making the humidity of the air in the workshop above 65%, even up to 80%, which is easy to cause corrosion of bearing parts.

2. Temperature: Temperature also has great influence on corrosion. The research shows that when the humidity is higher than the critical humidity, the corrosion rate increases about twice for every 10 ℃ increase in temperature. When the temperature difference changes greatly, the condensation on the bearing surface will greatly accelerate the corrosion. In the process of bearing processing, the temperature difference between day and night or the temperature difference between the environment will cause condensation on the bearing surface and cause corrosion.

3. Oxygen: Oxygen can be dissolved in water during the storage of the bearing. The concentration corrosion of oxygen can be seen at any time, and the solubility of different parts will change. When the bearing is stacked, the oxygen is insufficiently inflated in the middle of the overlapping surface, the concentration of water is low, the oxygen at the edge is sufficient, and the concentration of water is high. Rust often occurs at the edge around the overlapping surface.

4. Human hand sweat: Human sweat is a colorless transparent or light yellow liquid with salty taste and weak acidity, and its pH value is 5~6. In addition to sodium, potassium, calcium and magnesium salts, it also contains a small amount of urea, lactic acid, citric acid and other organic acids. When sweat contacts the bearing surface, a sweat film will be formed on the bearing surface. The sweat film will cause electrochemical action on the bearing, corrode the bearing, and produce embroidery.

How to prevent bearing rusting?

1. Firstly, clean the bearing surface: the proper method must be selected according to the nature of the surface of the rust-proof object and the current conditions. Generally, solvent cleaning, chemical cleaning and mechanical cleaning are used.

2. After the bearing surface is dried and cleaned, it can be dried with filtered dry compressed air, or dried with a dryer of 120~170 ℃, or wiped with clean gauze.

3. The method of coating anti-rust oil on the bearing surface, immersing the bearing in anti-rust grease, and sticking a layer of anti-rust grease on its surface. The oil film thickness can be achieved by controlling the temperature or viscosity of the anti-rust grease.

4. When assembling the bearing, the production personnel should wear gloves and finger sleeves, or use special tools to take the bearing. Do not touch the bearing surface with hands.
